Emily Gustkey Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Philipsburg-Osceola Take The Win Over Central

Emily Gustkey collected three hits in four at bats, as Philipsburg-Osceola Varsity  defeated Central 9-0 on Tuesday. Gustkey doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

The Lady Mounties won thanks in part to five runs in the third inning.  Alivia Bizzarri doubled, scoring one run, Mia Butler tripled, scoring one run, Ashlyn Havens grounded out, scoring one run, Cameron Chverchko tripled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Philipsburg-Osceola were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.

Bizzarri earned the win for the Lady Mounties. The pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Riley Peterson took the loss for Central. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up nine runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one.

The Lady Mounties piled up 11 hits in the game. Macie Bush, Bizzarri, Morgan Vaughn, Maddyx Hampton, Chverchko, Havens, and Butler each drove in one run for Philipsburg-Osceola . Gustkey stole two bases. The Lady Mounties ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.

Hailey Fries, Kaylee Kensinger, and Aubrey Rhodes each collected one hit for the Dragons.

Next up for Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties is a game against Bellefonte on Monday.
