Juniata couldn’t keep up with Upper Dauphin Area and fell 13-4 on Thursday.
Upper Dauphin were the first to get on the board in the first scoring one run.
The Indians took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to two walks.
Upper Dauphin Area flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-2.
Engle earned the win for Upper Dauphin. The pitcher gave up two hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking six. Daylyn Kennedy took the loss for Juniata. The starter went four innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking four.
Bryce Harlon provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Indians with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Kennedy and Harlon each collected two hits for Juniata.. The Indians had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Drew Geedey and Caleb Auker led the team with two walks each. Geedey stole two bases. Juniata stole four bases in the game.
Upper Dauphin Area piled up 15 hits in the game. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. UD turned one double play in the game.
The Indians welcome Line Mountain on Monday for their next game.
