Savannah Marshall Drives In 4 To Lead Juniata Past Halifax

Savannah Marshall drove in four runs on one hit to lead Juniata past Halifax 12-9 on Wednesday. In the third inning, Marshall homered to left field, scoring three runs.

The Lady Indians collected 14 hits and Halifax had seven in the high-scoring affair.

Halifax were the first to get on the board in the first when M Readings grounded out, scoring one run.

Halifax added to their early lead in the top of the second inning.

Juniata took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Destiny Yohn doubled, scoring three runs, to give the Indians the lead, 6-3.

Halifax captured the lead, 7-6, in the top of the sixth.

Juniata flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 12-7. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Addison Rutherford earned the win for the Lady Indians. The starter allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking none. Kaylnn Brown tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Juniata in relief. The reliever surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking one.

The Indians accumulated 14 hits in the game. Sophia Smith led Juniata with four hits in four at bats. Victoria Moore and Regan Lowrey each collected multiple hits for Juniata Varsity Indians. The Indians turned one double play in the game.

Juniata will travel to Upper Dauphin Area for their next game on Thursday.
