The East Juniata Varsity Tigers baseball team  had trouble keeping up with Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy in a 10-2 loss on Wednesday.

The Wolfpack got on the board in the top of the first inning after Hayden Lingle singled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run.

Saint Joseph’s  added one run in the second. Caleb Foytack singled to center field, making the score 4-1.

The Wolfpack scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Keegan Sincavage drew a walk, scoring one run, CJ Grove singled, scoring one run, Braeden Miller singled, scoring one run, and Foytack singled, scoring two runs.

Foytack earned the win for the Wolfpack. The pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out 10 and walking three. Wyatt Weges stepped on the bump first for East Juniata. The righty gave up six hits and nine runs (two earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five. Miller earned the save.

Owen Messimer and Kelton Bonnell were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for East Juniata. Bonnell and Camden Feltman each collected two hits for the Tigers. Trent Price stole three bases. East Juniata worked the count all day, amassing six walks. The Tigers stole five bases in the game.

Saint Joseph’s amassed 11 hits in the game. Foytack drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Wolfpack with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 4-for-5 on the day. Grove and Miller each collected multiple hits for Saint Joseph’s. The Wolfpack had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Grove, Miller, and Lingle led the team with two free passes each. Grove and Charles Ramos each stole multiple bases for Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy . Saint Joseph’s Catholic stole six bases in the game. The Wolfpack turned one double play in the game.
