Juniata Varsity Indians won big over Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy 13-2 on Thursday to remain undefeated at 3-0-1.
A sacrifice fly by Bryce Harlon put Juniata on the board in the top of the first.
Foytack doubled down the left field line, which helped Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
The Indians flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Daylyn Kennedy that drove in two.
Juniata scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Kennedy singled, scoring one run, Harlon doubled, scoring two runs, Drew Geedey singled, scoring one run, Gage Harlon drew a walk, scoring one run, and Fabian Plesce drew a walk, scoring one run.
Kennedy earned the win for Juniata. The starter surrendered four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Ramos began the game for Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy. The hurler gave up seven hits and 13 runs (11 earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking nine. Cam Bargo tossed one inning of zero-run ball for the Indians in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
Kennedy, Geedey, and Harlon each collected two hits for Juniata Varsity Indians. Kennedy and Harlon each drove in three runs for Juniata. The Indians had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Calvin Decker and Caleb Auker led the team with two walks each.
Carson Kepner, Harlon, Kennedy, and Geedey each stole multiple bases for Juniata . The Indians stole 15 bases in the game.
Miller, Foytack, Ramos, and Balazik each collected one hit for Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy. Foytack and Balazik each drove in one run for Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy.
Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy turned one double play in the game.
