The Bellefonte baseball team fell to the Tyrone Eagles 9-6 on Tuesday at Tyrone’s baseball field.
The Red Raiders opened the scoring in the first after Evan Mattern grounded out, scoring one run.
The Eagles jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first scoring one run.
Bellefonte tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a single by Isaac Gall, and a sacrifice fly by Peyton Vancas.
Tyrone took the lead in the bottom of the second. A steal of home scored two runs, to give the Eagles the lead, 5-3.
Tyrone extended the lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the third inning.
Parker Capparelle stepped on the bump first for Bellefonte.
The starter gave up eight hits and seven runs (six earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two.
Gall led Bellefonte with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right fielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Oliver Thornburg, Gall, and Vancas each collected two hits for the Red Raiders.
Bellefonte turned two double plays in the game.
The Eagles amassed nine hits in the game.
