The Mifflin County Jr High volleyball team started their season tonight on the road against Hershey.
The 7th grade team won both sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-23, respectively. The Huskies saw strong serving from everyone in the win. Overall, the team had 24 total aces with Grayce Napikoski tallying 7, and Mackenzie Resto and Braylee Breon chipping in 4 each. Geneva Kelly recorded 6 digs in the effort.
Eighth grade started slow and had to play from behind until they were able to pull out a gusty 26-24 win in the first set. After that, there was no looking back, and they took the second set 25-16. The team had a total of 12 aces, with Janessa Collins and Jovi Bush adding four each. Ayden Long led the team defensively with 11 digs.
The team is back in action on Monday when they travel to Cumberland Valley.
