It was a nail biting contest Thursday as the Mifflin County wrestling team muscled out a close 35-29 contest over Cumberland Valley.
The match started at 215 where Mifflin County notched the first win of the evening. Avery Aurand won by tech fall over Tyler Byerly 17-0 at 1:54.
In the heavyweight match at 285, MIfflin County’s Peyton Kearns continued his winning ways by pinfall over William Barrett at 1:21.
Mifflin County continued to win at 107. Andrew Alexander won by tech fall over Wyatt Kitzmiller 15-0 at 2:34.
At 114, Cumberland Valley’s Rajan Urwan won by forfeit.
Cumberland Valley took things at At 121. Phil Montes won by tech fall against Paxton Shawver 16-1 at 5:22.
127-pounder Connor Killion picked up the fall over Layten Bower at 1:02.
133: Jake Knable jump started the Huskies at 133 with a sudden victory 4-1 win over Gordon Hung .
At 139, Kamden Everly scraped by with an 8-6 win over Logan Maurer.
Cumberland Valley got an easy win at 145. Owen Whittaker won by forfeit.
Cumberland Valley picked up its last win of the night at 152. Jacob Mitchell pinned Brennan Guido.
At 160, the Huskies Colby Seiler outmuscled a 10-5 win over Dominic Vogel.
Wins continued at 172 for the Huskies when Brayan Aurand had a dominating 14-1 Major decision win over Owen Prycl.
Rounding out the night on the right foot. 189-pounder Reese Christine won by pin over Rodrigo Rodriguez-Teodoro at 1:13.
