Hometown Spotlight: State College phenom Jesse Myers
Jan 15, 2025

STATE COLLEGE – It has been a historic career so far for State College track and field phenom Jesse Myers.

He has been one of the catalysts for the Little Lions legendary track and field team in what he has been accomplishing over the past 2 years for the State College track team.  Jesse has been running incredible times starting with his sophomore year when he capped of the spring track season with a 4th place finish at the PIAA in the 100m dash, a 2nd place finish in the 400m dash and a 1st place finish in the 200m.  The 2024 season (Jesse’s junior year) was highlighted by qualifying for the USATF U20 track Championships in Eugene, OR (they only take the top 18 qualifiers per event).  Jesse qualified to go in both the 100m and 200m dash events.  The Championships ended with Jesse finishing 2nd in the 200m, in a field loaded with college athletes.  That 2nd place finish earned him a spot on the USA track team to compete in Lima, Peru at age 17.  So far this indoor season, after only two meets Jesse has been on fire.  He was ranked #1 in the US in the 200m and 5th in the 60m for over 2 weeks and is still ranked 3rd and 15th.  The times that Jesse is turning in are truly remarkable for a high school athlete.  Especially for Central PA.    In spite of all the records that Jesse has broken (including a State meet record), with the times he’s running so far this season, he is on track to shatter records all over the state.  It’s going to be an exciting year for Jesse and the State High track team! Stay tuned!!!
