In a rare Wednesday home double-header, the Mifflin County 9th grade girls’ basketball team picked up two victories defeating Mechanicsburg and Chambersburg.

In the win over Mechanicsburg, Mifflin County was victorious 40-17. Jemma Kanagy and Grayce Napikoski each led the way with 9 points, and Lily Curry added 8.

Meanwhile, in the second game, the team defeated Chambersburg 45-10. Olivia Bedlyon had a game-high 16 points. Maddie Peachey scored 11 points and Jemma Kanagy added 9.

 The wins move them to 11-0 on the season. The team returns to action on Saturday, January 11hosting State College at Mifflin County High School for a 12:30 tip as part of the MCHS Mini-THON Gold Out.
