In an instant classic, the Huskies walked away with the Wildcat Winter Classic, defeating Mifflinburg 51-50.
It was a back and forth game that saw the Huskies trail by as many as 9 in the second half, but in a gutsy performance, the boys battled to the end.
With the Wildcats leading 50-48 with 6.6 seconds remaining, junior guard Evan Strohecker received an inbound pass, and hit the biggest shot of the season for the Huskies, drilling a game-winning corner 3 to give the Huskies the win.
The Huskies were led in scoring by sophomore guard Jack Curry who had 18. Sophomore Luke Bender added 9 with senior Aidan Attivo scoring 8.
Senior guard Aidan Attivo was selected to the all-tournament team, with Jack Curry walking away with Tournament MVP.
The JV Boys fell to 0-2 on the season in a tough battle, falling 56-52. Sophomore Carson Franklin led the way with 20 points, and sophomore Carson Cherry adding 11.
The varsity team is 3-0 for the second straight year, and are back in action on Wednesday for their home opener, as they battle Milton Hershey to open conference play. JV starts at 5:30 with Varsity following at 7.
