Kyler Everly, Anthony DeAngelo finish 3-0

The Shippensburg University wrestling team picked up dual meet victories over Mount Union and Waynesburg Saturday at the Waynesburg Duals.

The Raiders (3-2) defeated Mount Union (2-2) by a close 26-23 final score, and dominated hosts Waynesburg (0-3) 36-3. SU rounded out the duals with a loss to Lycoming College (3-0), 25-19.

Junior Kyler Everly (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) and freshman Anthony DeAngelo (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) finished a perfect 3-0 on the day. Sophomore Eli Bounds (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), redshirt-sophomore Mike Trainor, junior Trey Shoemaker (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County), junior Owen Koch (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) and sophomore Diesel Koser (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) each posted a pair of individual wins.

Shippensburg’s middleweights were the difference against Mount Union, as they posted victories in every weight class from 141 pounds to 184.

Trainor, Everly, Shoemaker notched bonus point wins at 149, 157 and 174 pounds; respectively.

Bounds and DeAngelo won decisions at 141 and 165 pounds, and Koch recorded a forfeit win at 184.

Sophomore Noah Gilgore (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill) began the Waynesburg matchup with an 8-5 decision at 125 pounds, kick-starting a run of six straight Raider victories that resulted in an insurmountable 27-0 edge.

Senior Connor Livingston (Westminster, Md./Manchester Valley) capped the 36-3 win with a 1-0 decision over Waynesburg’s Austin Fleming at 285.

Against Lycoming, SU wins came from sophomore Calvin Lederer (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), Koch, Everly, DeAngelo and Koser.

DeAngelo posted a 17-1 tech fall against Wyatt Frawley at 165, while Everly and Koser earned major decisions at 165 and 197.

Up next, the Raiders welcome Gettysburg College for their first home dual meet Friday at 7 p.m. at Heiges Field House.
