LEWISTOWN – In the last officially scheduled event at Mitchell Field, the weekend belonged to the McVeytown Eagles in all levels of Central Keystone Youth Football League.

Defensively, the Eagles were dominant early and often keeping the Bulldogs defense at bay for most of the contest.
The Bulldogs were led on the ground by Malachi Galbraith who got hot on the ground in the second half, finishing with over 70 yards in the tough loss.
On the Eagles second possession of the game, McVeytown got the ball on their own 49 and scored in a three-play drive that saw Felmlee break loose on a 2nd-and-4 and blazed his way to a 22-yard TD run.
However, the Burnham defense held, keeping the Eagles from completing the extra point.
It would be the McVeytown defense that took over on the Bulldogs’ next possession.
After holding on the failed 7-play drive, the Eagles had the ball back deep in Bulldogs territory.
Specht took care of the scoring on this drive, muscling his way in from 10-yards out for the second TD of the night.
Right before the half, the Eagles would score on last time. Felmlee picked up back-to-back big plays culminating in a third team touchdown.
When the two went into the intermission, the Eagles held the same 18-0 lead.
The Bulldogs refused to go away without a fight as they came out of the second half and made some noise offensively.
Starting on their own 45, Malachi Galbraith made the most of his touches in the series posting runs of 47 rushing yards culminating in a 4-yard push by Galbraith.
Burnham also was successful in the 2-point conversion when Eli Galbraith found Malachi Galbraith for the 2-point conversion, putting the Bulldogs to within striking distance at 18-8 with 6:18 left in the third.
McVeytown went right back to work on the following drive, this time going on a long time consuming drive.
On the 10th play, Felmlee once again found the end zone thanks to a 17-yard TD run and also 171-yard mark. Specht ran it in on the PAT upping the Eagles’ lead to 25-8.
In the final quarter, Felmlee finished off the scoring posting another. His run of 39 yards put him over the 200-yard rushing mark and extending the lead back to 31-8.
For the final minutes, the McVeytown defense once again stiffened and was able to help running out the clock, giving the Eagles the hard fought victory to be crowned champs.
