Juniata takes the Mid-Penn Capital Division with win over UDA

MIFFLINTOWN- Crown them the champs!!

Friday night the Juniata football team found themselves sitting on top of the Mid-Penn Capital Championship with its hard fought contest against a very tough Upper Dauphin team 21-13 at Dietrick Field at Klingensmith Stadium.


The Indians quarterback Wyatt Ehrenzeller was 9-16 through the air for 100-yards passing, finishing with a quarterback rating at 95.8.

On the ground, Javier Lopez rumbled his way to a 15-Rush 109-yard performance. Creating a rushing two-headed monster for the Indians was Lane Peiper. Peiper also reached the 100-yards mark in the victory. Peiper was also a force on defense finishing with 13 tackles.


In the receiving department, “Big Red” got another strong night from Jasper Shepps. Shepps finished with 89 yards. He also was a perfect 1-1 passing for four yards.

On defense, Shepps and Connor Boreman both finished with interceptions.

Shepps and Lopez had a touchdown and two touchdown performance, respectively.


Defensively, Juniata got to the UDA quarterback five times on the night.

Upper Dauphin quarterback Aidan Bingaman went 5-for-11 for 137 yards passing.

Teammate Caleb Snyder provided the spark in the running game, rushing for 23 carries for 181 yards and both touchdowns for the visitors.

With the win, Juniata captures the top seed in the District 6 Class AAAA Division.
