Onward and upward!
The Juniata girls soccer team opened up its 2024 District 6 Class AA postseason in a positive note.
Wednesday at Mansion Park, the Lady Indians showed guts and grit as they were able to muscle out a hard fought 1-0 win against Central to advance to the second round of D6 action.
Early in the first half, Regan Lowrey hit the team’s first and only goal of the game at the 36:11. She was assisted on the play by Mylee Landis.
From there the Juniata defense took over as it shut down the Dragons the rest of the contest.
The Lady Indians’ goalie Regan Burd was tough in the net recording nine saves in the victory.
Central outshot Juniata 9-6 and in corner opportunities 5-1.
