Starting the week with another “W”. The Bellefonte boys soccer team started off the week on a 5-1 victory over Tyrone Monday.
“It a great win tonight on senior night. It was nice to see all our senior play and contribute. One we got the 1st goal they seem to come quick for us. Tyrone defense played a pretty solid game making us work for everything we got,” said Scott Martz. “Andy and Seth worked really well together up front tonigjt. Our defense played pretty solid pushing the ball up to our offense all night to start our offense.”
Starting the first half scoring for Bellefonte was a Seth Caron goal with an assist by Conelle Stabinger at 14:14.
Minutes later, Bellefonte was at it again. At 17:40, Andy Geresanko scored off an assist from Seth Caton.
When the two teams went into the intermission, the Red Raiders led 2-0.
In the second half, the Red Raiders went back to work.
At 40:13, Geresanko scored off an assist from Preston smith, making it a 3-0 contest.
49:06 Seth Caton scored Bellefonte scored once more at 49:06 off an assist by Genesenko.
Tyrone scored its lone goal at 57:16.
Rounding out the Bellefonte goals at 74:50 was Stabinger with an assist from Gage Rankin.
The Red Raiders led in shots on goal 12-5 while also leading corner opportunities 6-4.
With the win, the Red Raiders improve to 12-2-2. Their next game is Wednesday at home vs Clearfield.
