The Mifflin County Lady Huskies ran in the Mid Penn Championship and Tim Cook Memorial races on Saturday, October 12. In the MPC race the team finished in 16th place. Amilia Coffey led the team finishing in 58th place for the AAA girls. There were 113 AAA runners that completed the race. Ava Kratzer and Ava Wagner finished together for second and third for the Huskies.

“The course has a diversity of ups and downs and has always been a challenging run for our athletes. The weather was a welcomed change from last year’s mud and cold rain, although it warmed up a little more than I was hoping for,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman. “Training in cooler weather all week was really good so having to shift back to warmer weather again makes it challenging. That’s how this time in the season often is. You never know what you are going to get.”

In the Tim Cook race, Caroline Palopoli led for the team.

“I was really glad to see how she finished,” said Breneman. “She looked confident, strong, and was able to complete the race with a strong kick.”

This Thursday, October 17, the Huskies will celebrate their seniors, Lexi Anderson and Ava Wagner before our final home meet of the season against Williamsport and Juniata.

Scoring today in the Mid Penn Championship race was:

(58) Amilia Coffey (22:20)

(81) Ava Wagner (23:22)

(82) Ava Kratzer (23:23)

(107) Alexis Anderson (26:39)

(109) Madison Baumgardner (27:00)
