(3-4) Mifflin County Huskies vs 3-4 Lower Dauphin Falcons

Mifflin County comes into this game riding a two game win streak with wins over Palmyra and Waynesboro defeating the Cougars 20-0 and stunning the Indians 20-14 at Mitchell Field on Homecoming night.

Lower Dauphin comes into this game on a one game winning streak losing 3 out of their last four games since defeating Northern York back in September 6th topping the Polar Bears 35-14.The Falcons recent win came with a win over Palmyra blanking the Cougars 44-0 at home.The Falcons are set to play Waynesboro next week at home on October 18th.

Mifflin County ran the ball well.

Mifflin County relied on senior running back Josh Maldonado powering Mifflin County to a win.

My opinion is you get a good running back going in a rhythm he’s bound to do well and bound to break big.Thats just what Maldonado did totaling 88 yards on the ground.I spoke to Maldonado after the game and this is what he said.

Josh Maldonado said: I thought overall I’m very proud of our team.I think we showed out on offense and defense especially the offensive line.I don’t think it’s the runs we need to improve on,we just need to step up against Lower Dauphin.

This will be the third straight game Chase Hartung will start as the field general Hartung has produced in big ways for the Purple and White. Since Hartung has been the teams starter he has a 2-0 record.Hartung in last weeks game threw for 155 yards going 9-18 averaging 17.2 yards.

Mifflin County relied on four receivers in the win over the Indians Cyrell Green had 5 receptions on 84 yards, Dupree Reed had one reception on 17 yards Landon Haigh had 2 receptions on 41 yards, and Avery Aurand totaled 13 yards on one reception. A key note Haigh averaged 20.5 yards in  receiving.

The Huskies looked great on defense led by defensive coordinator Sandy Breon.I talked to the defensive coordinator after the game before i left the stadium he was very happy with how his players played Breon said they play the same way in practice.

Huskies didn’t let up on defense in fact the final drive which was the go ahead drive for Waynesboro if the Indians score they win with a extra point.Mifflin County Reese Christine was that same guy he has been the last two games picking off quarterback Rayshawn Hewitt to ice the game extending his interception streak to three games. Christine now had a pick in his last three straight games. The game at Palmyra and Waynesboro were game deciding plays both icing the game just keep that in mind Christine will look to make it four games when they play the Falcons.

Braeden Heckard is the Falcons quarterback he only passes for 82.3 yards per game his net average is 60.5.

Last week Vs Palmyra he threw for 153 passing yards 3 passing touchdowns completing 6 passes.

Heckard will have to get it to his receivers the Huskies didn’t make it easy on Waynesboro’s quarterback Hewitt last week picking him off twice Reed and Christine were the guys that came up with the ball on the defensive side.

fumbles can’t happen either. Huskies Harrison Bulick had a scoop and score in the week last Friday night that is all things to keep in mind it shows you how dangerous Mifflin County’s defense can be.Heckard will also have to look both sides with Aurand and Adan Daubert. Daubert both were in the area of Waynesboro quarterback last week and all season.Huskies Peyton Kearns did indeed have a sack last week on Hewitt.

Lower Dauphin has a good defense as well Nathen Fortenberry has a knack of getting to the quarterback Hartung will have to keep his eyes on him.Falcons Brandon Fritz is well equipped to take on the Huskies offense be careful with Fritz he has 8.4 points per game.Fritz plays cornerback Hartung will have to find his receivers without being picked off.

Mifflin County Huskies vs Lower Dauphin Falcons

Yes i’m aware of i looked like a fool last week picking Waynesboro to win by scoring 45 points over Mifflin County.Lower Dauphin has a good defense which could play a factor in this game but this offense worries me Mifflin County has a all around great defense holding the Indians last week to 14 points yes defense will be key i think we will see two good defenses in this game from both teams.The best offense will win this game Hartung has been impressive when he is on point with his long ball look for Mifflin County to add some more short passes and limit the turnovers we have all seen how well the Huskies receivers have played this season i think they will have another big game and a low score game give me Mifflin County to get the win over Lower Dauphin.
