Juniat boys dominate in Saturday contest versus EJ

The Juniata boys soccer team’s offense continues to sizzle. Saturday, the Indians met up with rival East Juniata in the battle for bragging g rights in Juniata County.

In the end, the Juniata boys won the contest easily, posting an 8-0 victory over the Tigers.

East Juniata goalie Kelton Bonnell -finished with nine saves and teammate Anthony Hepner finished with three saves.

Juniata goalie Wyatt Dessin finished with one save while replacement Nolan Imes had none as both were not scored upon.

In the first half, Juniata scored first on a goal by Mason Beward. Beward was assisted by Anderson Portzline at 30:49.

At 17:07, Juniata again, as the goal was scored by Cooper Adamire with an assist coming from by Anthony Maradiaga.

Things exploded for the Indians in the second.

At 31:18, Juniata found the back of the net via a goal by Anthony Maradiaga. The assist on the play was from by Drew Bennett.

Less than a minute later at 30:28, the Indians offense added on another goal, on a score by Mason Beward. Beward was assisted by Ricky Guante.

Another quick goal at 30:08, put Juniata on the scoreboard once again on a score by Landon Beward. He was assisted by Anthony Maradiaga.

At 28:58, Juniata, scored by Anthony Maradiaga with the assist by Alex Portzline.

There was another goal for Juniata at 23:54, the Indians scored by Daniel Lopez.

With time running g out with 0:10, the Indians came up with the last score for Juniata. Jackson Shellenberger scored via an assist by Ty Dressler

Juniata outshot East Juniata 25-2.

The Indians also led in corner opportunities 10-1.
