At West Perry, it was another tough night for the scrappy Mifflin County boys soccer team, falling to West Perry 3-0.
“We fought back-and-forth through the first half with West Perry. We could’ve challenged the ball better though. We gave up a goal on a pass back that they jumped on in order to put them up 1-0 at halftime,” said coach Todd Peters. “We talked at halftime about running through the ball while maintaining balance and working balls to feet but it didn’t happen in the second half. We didn’t do well in keeping possession of the ball and they did. They scored two goals off quick restarts, one off a direct kick with 27 left and the other off a throw through the middle with 2:27 left and those put them to 3-0.”
West Perry led in shots by a 10-2 margin while also leading 7-2 in corners.
The Huskies’ goalie Jack Suydam finished with seven saves.
In the JV contest West Perry won 4-0.
