The Mifflin County Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of
Kelly Aston as our new Head Volleyball Coach.   She takes over for Coach Jenna Slepicka who helped to elevate the Volleyball program to new levels.  Last season the Huskies qualified for the District VI Play-Offs for the first time.  Coach Slepicka re-located.

Coach Aston grew up in Latrobe, Pa and played volleyball both for her high school and club team while in college at PSU. Coach Aston was hired by the State College Police Department, following her graduation from PSU and had been employed by SCPD for 25 years, currently holding the rank of Lieutenant.  Coach Aston began her coaching career in 2014, coaching for Penns Valley School District from the junior high to the varsity level.  Coach Aston has extensive experience coaching club level travel volleyball, coaching elite level teams from 12U through 18U.

Mifflin County is excited to bring Coach Aston to the Volleyball program.  She is professional, knowledgeable and incredibly passionate about the sport of Volleyball.  We believe she will continue to grow the already strong program and carry on the strong tradition of MC Athletics!  We are very fortunate to have a coach of her caliber lead our Volleyball program into the future.

Coach Aston has 4 adult children and has been married for 24 years.  Her oldest daughter was recently married (age 23) and is an elementary school teacher in Powhatan, Virginia.   Coach Aston’s son is 21 years old and is a starting defensive end for Bloomsburg University, entering his senior year.  Coach Aston’s youngest daughters are 18 year old twins, one who will be heading off to Marine Corps boot camp and one who will be entering her freshman year at West Chester University, both before the start of Mifflin County’s Volleyball Season.  Fun fact, Coach Aston has a Husky named Neeko!  Go Huskies!!!!

Coach Aston, “I am excited to become a part of Mifflin County athletics and continue to build on the success achieved last season.  I will continue to work to grow the program and the sport of Volleyball!”
