Even though Juniata softball team collected three hits to Forest Hills Varsity Rangers’s one, they still fell 2-1 on Thursday.

Shalelyn Armstrong, Alexea Frontz, and Elizabeth Gaisior each collected one hit for Juniata Varsity Indians.

Gaisior struck out 10 batters on the day. The left-handed pitcher also surrendered one hit and two runs over six innings while walking one.

An error put Forest Hills on the board in the bottom of the second.

Armstrong doubled, which helped the Indians tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.

The Rangers took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Payton Pcola grounded out, scoring one run, to give Forest  the leg up, 2-1.

Avery Smiach earned the win for Forest Hills. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one.

Armstrong went 1-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in.

Pcola led the team with one run batted in. Aivah Maul led the Rangers with one hit in two at bats. Forest Hills Varsity Rangers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Mylee Gdula had the most chances in the field with 11.
