Lewistown, (PA) – There’s a management team in place at Middle Road Speedway for 2023. A local father/son combination
will handle daily duties allowing current owner Tim Alexander to focus on family medical issues. Alexander will retain ownership of the facility and advise as necessary.
Alexander’s wife, Carol, is in a battle with a serious illness which was going to force a late start to the season or, going dark for 2023. Craig A. and Craig L. Rutherford have agreed to mann the phones and oversee duties so action can begin on time. Both have extensive race track experience with over 25 years at a number of area raceways. While the elder Rutherord’s physical role will be limited, he will be able to answer phone calls and make decisions. Much of the day to day race details will be left to the younger generation. The speedway’s most aggressive schedule ever will be released shortly. While details continue to be added, thirty plus race dates are planned. Both day and night action is featured. Holiday weekends include three day shows. Bands, DJ’s and open mic nights plus fireworks periodically dot the card.
The speedway will participate in Goose Day activities with special events planned.
Printed pocket schedules are being produced and will be distributed throughout the area shortly.
Other highlights this season include car load general admission pricing plus plenty of giveaway items for the fans. There will also be traditional one person general admission prices as usual.
The first scheduled events are March 25-26 from noon until 4 when Bug Day practice sessions will be on tap. General admission will be free both days.
Green flag action begins Saturday April 8 with PA Mower Racing Club Tractors and AKA Go Karts. There will be a kids Easter Egg Hunt as part of the show. Action continues through October with multiple days of racing every month.

Racers and fans are invited to an expanded small track racing experience this season at Middle Road Speedway. The 1/10th mile oval can be accessed from Lewistown Industrial Park Road off Lewistown business or throughway Rt. 22/522. Turn right on Middle Road and proceed approximately 1/4th mile. The track is on the left.
