LEWISTOWN – Total domination!
After defeating a very tough Mechanicsburg team last Friday, the MIfflin County girls basketball team took their game to another level Tuesday as they exploded for a 77-26 win over Hershey at MIfflin County High School.
Leading the way once again was captain Marissa Gingrich who finished with a game-high 30. She outscored the entire Hershey team on the night. MC improves to 7-5
Amelia Leister also had a hot hand, finishing with 16 points.
Rounding things out for the Lady Huskies was Jalee Bodtorf with 11.
Hershey got six point efforts from Irmarie Rodriquez and Lauven
Yazinski.
Mifflin County got out of the gate fast sporting 26 points while its defense held Hershey to four points.
Gingrich led the first quarter scorers with 11. Leister followed with eight.
In the second period, MIfflin County continued to roll.
This time the Lady Huskies hit 20 points. Like it did in the first, the Huskies defense held Hershey to single digit, scoring only nine.
Gingrich led things once again with a 7-point effort while Bodtorf finished with six.
Going into the intermission, MIfflin County held a very secure 46-13 lead.
In the second half, “the Purple and Black Attack” continued to sizzle, outscoring their opponent 31-13 to take the contest.
