MIFFLINTOWN – It was a strong start for the Juniata wrestling team in the first round of the Juniata Duals Saturday morning as the Indians defeated Susquenita 42-32.
Starting at 285, Juniata’s Jason Goss took his opener with a forfeit win.
Teammate 106-pounder Anthony Maradiaga also won via a forfeit.
Juniata won again at 132 as Casey Smith pinned Jack Stoesz quickly at 0:46.
In the 138-pound weight class, Quintin Parrish picked up his team’s third forfeit victory while at 145 teammate Taylor Smith was able to pin opponent Colton Reed at 2:45.
Going into the heavier weights 189-pounder Harrison Mummah pinned Miles Asper at 3:02.
Rounding out the wins for Juniata was 215-pounder Kelton Bonnell as he notched another pin as he topped Braden Law at 2:45.
