MILL HALL—The area contingent pushed 13 wrestlers into the quarterfinals on day one of the King of the Mountain tournament on Friday.
Mifflin County and State College got five each into the quarters,with Bald Eagle Area qualifying three.
Advancing to the quarterfinals for the Huskies were Hunter Johnson (121), Jacob Cunningham (145), Parker Kearns (152), Deakon Schaeffer (160), and Avery Aurand (172). Blake Aumiller (133) is still alive in the consolations.
Moving on for the Little Lions are Hayden Cunningham (133), Pierson Manville (139), Asher Cunningham (145), Carter Weaverling (172), and Nick Pavlechko (285). Still fighting in the wrestlebacks are Mason Sanderson (107) and Eric Weaver (127).
The Eagles put Lucas Fye (121), Coen Bainey (127), and Caleb Close (172) in the quarterfinals. Jeffre Pifer (152) and Shawn Knepp (189) survived into the blood round Saturday.
Bellefonte failed to get a wrestler into the quarters but hasJackson Long (121), Ezra Swisher (121), Gage Long (145), and Max Murray (160) still kicking in the consys.
Mifflin County is ninth in the team standings with 54 points. BEA is tenth with 51.5, followed by Bellefonte in 14th with 49 points, and State College is 16th with 46 points. Philipsburg, New Jersey, leads the team race with 81 points.
