LEWISTOWN – Moving right along!
The MIfflin County girls soccer team picked up its third win in a row Saturday, defeating Williamsport 3-1.
Aubrey Strohecker lit it up posting a hat trick in the victory.
Mifflin County outshot the Millionaires 8-3 and also held the advantage in corner kicks by a 7-5 margin.
Strohecker started off the scoring for MIfflin County as she picked up a pass from teammate Mackenzie Peachey, sending it home for the goal at 53:15.
Minutes later Strohecker struck again when she picked up a pass from Kate Bickhart and tickled the twine for the Huskies second goal.
Williamsport got on the board late when Elizabeth Shultz posted a goal off a penalty kick at 57:39, cutting it to a 2-1 contest.
However the Bickhart to Strohecker connection came through again with an insurance goal at 58:40.
Mifflin County goalie Bailey McNitt took care of two saves while Williamsport’s Sarah Spring tallied five.
With the win, MIfflin County improves to 3-1 on the year and still are 0-0 in the Mountain League.
Next up for MIfflin County is a road trip to Waynesboro on September 6.
In JV action, MIfflin County came out on top of a 1-0 affair.
Amelia Green scored off a Lorynn Knepp pass to score the winning goal for the Huskies.
