LEWISTOWN – A nice way to get the season off and running!

The MIfflin County field hockey team opened its Friday afternoon campaign in winning fashion, defeating Carlisle 3-1.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Lady Huskies jumped on the board with two in the second.

Goals for MC: 

Hailee Sheetz, notched the team’s first goal with 6:23 left in the 2nd quarter.

Teammate Adria Hartzler scored just minutes later at 3:19 left until the half.

Hartzler, gave her team an insurance goal with 12:25 left off an assist from Hailee Sheetz.

Mifflin County goalie Sophie McCurdy finished with five saves.

Carlisle lone goal came from Calyn Clements, in the 4th quarter with 3:50 left on an assist from Sarah Waleski.

Next game for the Huskies is Tuesday, September 6 at State College.
