Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine is willing to forgive the band’s former bass player, David Ellefson, who was let go last year due to a sex scandal, but he refuses to ever play music with him again, he told Metal Hammer in a new interview on Friday (June 24th).
During the interview, Mustaine referenced Megadeth’s two-year breakup in 2002 and Ellefson’s subsequent $18.5 million lawsuit in 2004, saying, “I’ve forgiven him before when he sued me and I’lll forgive him a thousand times. I just won’t play music with him anymore.”
He told Rolling Stone, “It was hard on me letting him go. And I’m happier now than I’ve ever been.”
Megadeth’s new single, “We’ll Be Back,” was released last week. Their new album, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!, will be released on September 2nd.
