Two for two!
The MIfflin County softball team collected its second win in as many days as it took care of Bishop McDevitt 7-2.
Yesterday, the Huskies shut out Cedar Cliff 11-0.
Leading the way for the Huskies offensively on the night was Sophie McCurdy. McCurdy finished the day with a 2-for-2 effort with 2RBI.
On the mound, Maddie Wolfgang went the distance allowing only four hits while striking six.
Offensively, she hit a clutch triple.
Mifflin County opened the game with three runs in first after holding Bishop McDevitt scoreless in the top of the inning.
Wolfgang led off the inning with a walk.
Arika Henry followed with a single, allowing Wolfgang to move up to third.
Peyton McClure walked to load the bases.
Dakota Hershberger’s fielders choice scored Wolfgang and allowed the other two runners to move up a base.
Riley Hine hits a grounder to third and reaches on a fielders choice.
McCurdy was hit by a pitch to notch an RBI, making it a 2-0 affair.
Jesse Brumbaugh lifted a sacrifice fly to bring in McClure to finish the scoring at 3-0 going into the second.
Hershberger led the charge for the “Purple and Black Attack” as she started the bottom of the third with a double.
With one out McCurdy sends home Hershberger with an RBI single, upping it to a 4-0 lead.
Mifflin County added three more in the bottom of the fifth to take a comfortable 7-0 lead.
That would be enough for the Lady Huskies as they shut down Bishop McDevitt en route to the 7-2 victory.
