Wolfgang Van Halen took to Twitter to shoot down unsubstantiated rumors that Van Halen will continue with him replacing his father on guitar. Wolfgang Tweeted, “This is just a s*y lie attempting to capitalize on these awful times. Please stop with this. Anyone peddling this s is not only hurting the fans, but hurting me and my family.”
Blabbermouth reported Wolfgang was responding to a discussion on a private Wolfgang Facebook group, which suggested that Eddie Van Halen had given his son “his blessing” to take his place in the reunited lineup, which would also feature Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony rejoining drummer Alex Van Halen.
- A meeting is set to take place today in Eddie Van Halen’s childhood hometown of Pasadena, California to deal with the prospects of an official tribute to the guitarist who died of cancer this past October 6th.
- According to the report, “Since his passing, Pasadena has received several requests and suggestions from the community to do or name something in Van Halen’s (honor) to (recognize) both his local connection to Pasadena, as well as the impact that his artistry had on music.” (NME)
