WOLFGANG VAN HALEN EAGER FOR FANS TO HEAR NEW ALBUM
Although he’s been taking his knocks on social media over the past few years, no one can deny the power of Wolfgang Van Halen’s solo debut single, “Distance.” The track, which was issued under the moniker Mammoth WVH, topped Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
Several of Eddie Van Halen’s iconic guitars — including the legendary “Frankenstrat” — sold big at auction snagging a combined $422,050.
The sale took place on December 2nd via Julien’s Auctions’ Icons & Idols Trilogy: Rock N’ Roll Auction. NME reported the “customized (Frankenstrat) Kramer built with guitar tech Matt Bruck at the guitarist’s home studio sold for $231,250, $140,800 for his 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series guitar, and $50,000 for a prop guitar from (Van Halen’s 1984) ‘Hot For Teacher’ video.”
David Lee Roth has unveiled “The Roth Project” — a new interactive digital novel. Roth described it to Variety, explaining, “The kind of work that I do is basically 1500’s pen, ink and brush. Really simple, handmade work that, like learning a musical instrument, requires thousands and thousands of hours to master, just to make a perfectly thin line that has some sort of character to it.”
Roth explained that the process is brought to life when the pieces are digitized: “You can interact with it. You have narration. You have music. You have the future.” Log on to “The Roth Project”: https://www.therothproject.com/
