Perry Farrell’s Voice Box Temporarily Removed During Spinal Surgery

by Erik Lane | Nov 17, 2020 | DJ Blogs, Erik | 0 comments

Perry Farrell recently underwent spinal surgery that required doctors to temporarily remove his voice box. He told Classic Rock magazine, “It was successful. I have crushed discs in my neck, mostly from partying and leaning back my head to rip out notes and surfing and dancing around . . . They had to remove my voice box and put it on a table. That was daunting.” The Jane’s Addiction front man added, “They literally exposed my skeleton, took the discs out and put in artificial discs. So now I am a quarter inch taller and twice as attractive to my wife.”

FAST FACTS

  • The members of Jane’s Addiction reunited for their first performance together in three years on August 1st for Lollapalooza’s Lolla2020 livestream.
  • Farrell’s latest project is called Kind Heaven Orchestra.
