Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke will release his latest studio set, The Gospel Truth, on April 16th. Featured on the set are Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, as well as drumming from John Mellencamp and Chickenfoot’s Kenny Aronoff, and Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction, Porno For Pyros, and Infectious Grooves.
The Gospel Truth has already spawned a trio of singles — “Rock N’ Roll Is Getting Louder,” “Tightwad” — featuring Nikki Sixx, and the title track “which is a song about the concept of truth today.”
The album’s press release states: “Gilby’s new album The Gospel Truth is full of fist-pumping rock ‘n’ roll songs with fat choruses, bluesy licks and trademark solos! It’s classic rock, a new version of what Gilby likes to do and that’s. . . LOUD GUITARS!”
- Gilby Clarke joined Guns N’ Roses in 1991, replacing co-founder Izzy Stradlin during the band’s Use Your Illusion tour.
- Clarke appeared on the band’s Spaghetti Incident, Live Era ’88-’91 and The Greatest Hits albums.
- He currently splits his time between his solo career and Kings Of Chaos led by Matt Sorum and an all-star alumni that has featured Steven Tyler, Joe Elliot, and Gene Simmons.
