Anyone need a painkiller? Judas Priest has you covered! Buehler’s Vinyl Cut this week takes us to 1990 where the music scene is starting to morph courtesy of the Seattle grunge scene. This album is what (in my opinion) solidifies Judas Priest as a metal band. With the addition of Scott Travis on sticks, you can hear his double bass drum techniques take the bands sound to a new level!
This album was released behind schedule due to the band having to make a court appearance because of ‘subliminal messages’ hidden in the song Better By You, Better Than Me which “convinced” two teens to attempt suicide. The case was dismissed after a short time in court and cost Priest about 250 thousand dollars in court fees but after the dust settled Priest was back in action.
